Bridal makeup

My expertise and my passion lies in bridal makeup. I specialize in creating beautifully modern makeup to ensure you look and feel your best on your wedding day. I would describe my style of makeup as timeless soft glam, but whatever your preferred style of makeup is, I can adapt my style to suit yours. It is such an honour to be chosen to be part of a bride’s wedding morning and an extremely rewarding experience. I invest time in getting to know you and your bridal party and understand your wedding vision so I can create a perfectly tailored look for you. My aim is to make every bride look and feel effortlessly beautiful. I’m overflowing with creativity, ready to interpret your bridal makeup vision to design an individual look that is perfect for you.

I use a wide variety of make-up from high end products to carefully selected brands that have been tried and tested over the years. I carry a range of premium brands in my makeup kit including CHARLOTTE TILBURY, NARS, MAC, DIOR, CHANEL, BECCA and MORE. The products I use are of the highest quality; I trust them implicitly and every product has been tried and tested to be heat, sweat, tear and champagne proof!

Your Makeup trial

Your wedding makeup trial is an essential part of your bridal makeup process, I highly recommend every bride has one. It’s your opportunity for us to meet, in a relaxed, informal setting, so that we can get to know each other and discuss your bridal makeup vision.

I usually recommend having your trial 3-4 months before your wedding, that way you have more of a definite idea of bridal colour schemes for flowers, bridesmaid dress etc and other decisions which are all conducive to your bridal makeup. Your bridal makeup trial will usually last about 2 hours so don’t pick a day or date where you’ll be in a hurry! Trials should be during daylight hours, to give you an accurate visual of your make-up , preferably earlier in the day so you can really test the makeup and see how it wears throughout the day.

I always recommend that you bring along any images, fabrics, makeup items or ideas that you feel will give me an extra understanding into the look you are aiming to achieve. I always gently remind brides to look for images that are not photoshopped, filtered or heavily edited. Look for real life brides, from working bridal makeup artists social media pages and look for women with similar skin tone, face shape, eye shape and colouring to you for a more realistic approach to your bridal makeup.

Booking a bridal trial

For Irish weddings, trials take place at my studio room at my home in Carrigaline, Cork. For Destination weddings, I can travel the night before to your venue for your trial. Sometimes the bride will have a rehearsal dinner the evening before at the venue, it can be good to have the makeup done for this occasion to make use of the makeup and see how it wears throughout the evening. Rest assured; I have worked with many brides for destination weddings, I pride myself on my communication skills so we will have chatted in depth about your bridal makeup vision prior to meeting so there is no need to worry about leaving it until the night before.

Don’t worry if you don’t have any firm ideas about your bridal look, that’s where my expertise and professional opinion comes in.

At the end of your trial, I will take some photos and create a detailed face chart for my records. I will send a follow up email shortly after to confirm a time schedule and give recommendations of makeup to purchase for touch-ups on the day.

Your big day

Your wedding morning should be relaxing and enjoyable with as little stress as possible. Feel confident and trust in your chosen suppliers, you have done all the hard work up to the day, now it’s our turn to do our job. I will have communicated with you the evening before and will arrive at your home or venue in plenty of time to set up and be ready to start at the arranged time.

I aim to finish all makeup 1 hour before the ceremony, giving you plenty of time to get dressed and have your photographs taken. I will also stay with you until you leave for the ceremony for any final touch ups.

An evening service is also available, if you, like many of my past brides, would like to refresh or change your makeup for the evening reception.
